New Study Proving Benefits of HGH

A new study on 36 children suffering from Prader-Willi syndrome proved that human growth hormone can improve a wide variety of symptoms. Prader-Willi syndrome is a genetic disorder that results in obesity and short stature. Diabetes, osteoporosis and scoliosis are also common in people suffering from Prader-Willi syndrome.

The children aged between one and fifteen were given HGH for 36 months. The results showed that the height gain achieved was 1.2 SD score. Lean body mass increased significantly while total body fat decreased in the first and second year. Their lipid profiles also improved together with glucose metabolism. Other parameters measured were insulin-like growth factor 1, bone mineral density, serum lipids and glucose tolerance. Measurements were made after each of the three years.

The study was conducted by the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit, the Centre de reference pour le syndrome de Prader-Willi, Department of Biostatistics and Hormonal Biochemistry, Assistance Publique – Hopitaux Necker-Enfants Malades, Paris, France.
